This temple is conveniently located within walking distance from the Uchhinatheswarar temple (as mentioned in TempleRun 029).
With a history spanning over a millennium, this sacred site was once densely populated with Vilva trees, and the sands beneath were naturally white, as cows generously poured milk. It was here that the lingam was meticulously crafted from that very white sand by sage Kabila, giving rise to the name Paalvanna Nadhar.
One striking feature of this temple is the exquisite beauty of the Dwarapalakas, the guardian deities at the entrance. The intricately detailed sculptures within the temple narrate a complete story within the confines of a mere 6-inch square area, showcasing an impressive wealth of detail in such a limited space
