We stopped by this place near Vellore, during one of our trips to Bangalore. This is one of the Padal Petra Sthalams.

This temple has two unique legends associated with it. 

First is the story of how Vinayagar went around the world to win the fruit against Murugar. The second is why the Nandhi here faces the opposite direction to Shiva ( Only 4 other temples have this feature).

When you visit this temple, do not forget to pay attention to the Dvarapalakas.  One of them is of considerable architectural significance.It is depicted in a unique dance posture twisted at the hip, and you can even see the folds of the skins.
